How to Use  the Zero Conditional

Zero Conditional is used for scientific facts, general truths, an outcome that happens if a specific repeated condition is met.

Form: If + Present simple. . . Present simple

Examples:

1. If you heat ice, it melts.
2. If he takes vitamins everyday, he doesn’t get sick.
3. If you mix yellow and blue, you get green.
4. I get tired if I work too much
5. My teacher gets angry if I am late to school.

Note: We can use the if clause first or later it doesn’t make any difference for example,

If it rains, the grass gets wet.

OR

The grass gets wet if it rains.

Note: We can also use when instead of if for example,

When it rains the grass gets wet.
